Please read this letter from President Chuck DeShazer regarding current FOP issues.  Added 01/15/2010   Click Here to open the PDF.

We are seeking to make communication better and faster with our members.  If you would like to have your FOP email auto-forwarded to a different personal email account, please provide that address to John Lee (jlee@aurorafop.org).  Your email address will not be shared and will only be used to forward all emails that are sent to your FOP account.

The FOP contacted Aflac for the purpose of providing supplemental insurance to officers who are FOP members.  Aflac responded to the request and made a presentation to the FOP Board this week.  At the conclusion of the presentation and in the following discussions, the FOP Board decided the existence of the Aurora Lodge was for the betterment of all officers of our Department, not just those who choose to be a member of our exceptional fraternal organization.  Therefore, we are extending the offer of Aflac insurance to all members, including civilians, of the Aurora Police Department.

At our lodge meeting next week, Aflac will be conducting a presentation of their products.  All are invited and encouraged to attend.

FOP Lodge #49 continues to grow. If you know of anyone needing information on the FOP please let an FOP board member know or send an email to info@auroragov.org

Please carry your contact card with you while you are at work. For critical incidents you can call the attorney directly. These numbers can also be found on the Resources Page.  Please visit the contact us page for contact numbers for FOP Lodge #49 Officers.
